IMI-Kolkata commences the new session with increased capacity of students

International Management Institute – Kolkata (IMI-K) commences its new session in the presence of veteran theatre personality Mr. Rudraprasad Sengupta and his team “Nandikar”. Prof. Arindam Banik, Director of IMI quoted that 172 students are joining the Institute’s PGDM Programme (2018-2020) this year. IMI-Kolkata has also introduced a new section of students for the upcoming batch (PGDM 2018-2020) with an additional strength of 60(approximately) over last year.

The institute hosted a one of its kind orientation ceremony with Mr. Sengupta’s team Nandikar having planned an exclusive workshop for the new students. The theme of the workshop is “Nothing But TRUTH”. It is a two day workshop enhancing communication between students and encouraging team work. The workshop is also designed to help students shed their inhibitions. It will also give students an opportunity to better their creative skills.

The IMI-Kolkata campus in Alipore, spread over nearly 3 acres, was established in 2010 to provide significant opportunities to learn, grow and develop multiple skills across various disciplines of Management. Centrally located, the Kolkata campus is also equipped with residential facilities. The Institute’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is accredited by the National Board of Accreditations (NBA). The Institute also offers an AICTE approved full-time Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM).

Currently, IMI-Kolkata has active academic and research collaborations with the University of Tours, University of Bordeaux and ESC Rennes School of Business in France, as also Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) and Kunning University of Science & Technology in China and many others.

IMI-Kolkata has added a new section in the new batch in its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Programme. The same has been approved by AICTE. The new section is meant to enhance the capacity of the Institute.

The institute also awarded the prestigious Dr Rama Prasad Goenka Merit Scholarship to the present second year students. Mr Gaurav Guha received the highest scholarship of Rs 75,000. Mr. Saptarshi Roy and Mr. Tirthakamal Nath are also recipients of this scholarship.

This year’s Chief Guest at the Orientation Programme Mr Rudraprasad Sengupta is a Bengali Indian actor, director and cultural critic. He leads the theatre group “NANDIKAR” known for its critically acclaimed plays. He received several awards, including the highest national award from Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1980.
