Dr. Tirthankar Nag, Dean- Research and International Relations at IMI-Kolkata  was invited to deliver a lecture on “Exploration of Linkages between Social Responsibility Strategies and Firm Performance in India” at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) in China on October 27, 2015. ISAS is part of the Sichuan University, which is one of China’s key universities under the direct supervision of Ministry of Education in the country. In his lecture beginning with an introduction of theoretical discussions of corporate social responsibility (CSR), Dr. Nag introduced his major findings on linkages between social responsibility and firm performance in India as a conclusion from his research on the performance of 30 big corporation during 2007-2012. Dr. Nag also interacted with the audience on matters of shared interest such as the CSR vs government responsibility paradigm, how to expand the beneficiary of CSR, CSR’s impact to FDI, how to coordinate the CSR actions of small and medium enterprises
